Attorney Allison M. Meade established her law firm in Boone in 2010.  She focuses her private practice on Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Business law and Contracts, and has served litigants as a certified Superior Court Mediator since 2011. Allison currently serves as Town Attorney for the Town of Boone, a position to which she was appointed in 2015.

Allison received her J.D. from Yale Law School (1993) and her B.A. from Williams College (1989). After law school, she served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Thomas N. O’Neill, Jr., United States District Court for the District of Eastern Pennsylvania. She then practiced complex commercial litigation with the litigation boutique Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin in Philadelphia. Allison returned to her home state of North Carolina in 2003 and subsequently joined the High Point firm of Wyatt, Early, Harris & Wheeler, LLP, focusing on civil litigation, commercial financing, and estate litigation. After spending weekends in the High Country for years, Allison moved to Boone in 2010.

Allison is active with the Watauga County Bar Association, having served as President in 2015 and Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer from 2013 to the present. She also has served as a Director and Chair of the Board of Directors of The Children’s Council of Watauga County, and as a member of Appalachian State University’s Internal Review Board. 

Allison was licensed as a real estate broker in 2004 and as a general contractor in 2005.  (She is currently inactive as to both licensures.)

Allison lives in Boone with her spouse, daughter, two rescue dogs and cat.  She enjoys cycling, tennis, hiking, fishing, gardening, reading and carpentry projects.
